There are a few easy ways job seekers can practice interviews using AI:

1. Use ChatGPT

  • Open a chat and prompt ChatGPT to act as an interviewer.

  • Example:

“Please act as an interviewer for a [Quality Assurance Manager] position. Ask me 5 behavioral and 5 technical interview questions one at a time. After each answer, give me brief feedback.”

  • You can customize it:

    • Focus on a specific industry (food manufacturing, biotech, testing labs)

    • Ask for questions at a beginner, mid-level, or executive level

    • Request follow-up questions based on your responses for more realism

  • Benefits:

    • Instant feedback

    • Unlimited practice

    • You control the pace and complexity

2. Use AI Interview Apps and Platforms

There are also dedicated AI interview platforms designed for this, such as:

  • Voomer (feedback on delivery, content, and tone)

  • Yoodli (speech and interview coaching, nonverbal feedback too)

  • Big Interview AI (role-specific practice sets)

  • Interview Warmup by Google (designed for practice across industries)

These platforms typically:

  • Generate realistic interview questions

  • Analyze your answers for clarity, structure, length, and confidence

  • Sometimes give you analytics reports or performance scores

Which Option Is Best?

  • If you want a free, flexible option, ChatGPT is fantastic for building confidence and working through a wide variety of questions.

  • If you want detailed video feedback (like analyzing your facial expressions or voice tone), then a specialized platform could be worth trying.

Quick Tip: How to Make It Feel Real

  • Dress the part (even at home)!

  • Use a timer to stay within ~1-2 minutes per answer. (In a real interview try to do the same, and you can wrap it up with, "Did that answer your question or would you like more specifics?"

  • Record yourself for review if possible! As a former Speech Team member, we always had to record ourselves and watch it. Painful at times, but a SUPER great practice to see what you do that can be improved on (Notably - saying "UM" in pause spaces, or poor eye contact).

  • Practice answering behavioral, technical, and culture-fit questions

Bottom Line

Whether you use ChatGPT or a dedicated app, AI-driven mock interviews are a powerful, affordable way to sharpen your skills — anytime, anywhere. With just a few practice sessions, you’ll sound more confident, polished, and prepared when the real opportunity comes!

As always, RSI recruiters will run mock interviews with you anytime you want. Practice makes perfect! However, AI can help you work through a question you've struggled with or on off-hours when we aren't available.
